Choosing the right dry herb vaporizer for medical cannabis isn't easy, especially when you're looking at top-tier options like the Tinymight 2 and Venty vaporizer.
It's hard to know what is better when users in both camps will swear theirs is the best. But the truth is, there are so key differences to consider with both devices. As often in life, things aren't always so simple. So having extensively used both devices, I figured i'd share the little details that add up to a lot when considering which of these devices is best for you.

Titans Of the Dry Herb Vape World

TIf you are here, you're looking to invest in a high end piece of kit for your medical cannabis. This amount of money is no joke, so the last thing you want to do is spend it on a device that you simply don't get your moneys worth from. Little differences in the process, efficiency, throat hit, or general setup can have a big impact on the individual.
I had seen rave reviews about the Tinymight 2 and how fast and easy it was to process, and yet was surprised when I bought one to find that it was more involved and actually not as great at extracting as I had expected.
The Venty delivered out of the box, but has some glaringly obvious shortfalls that leaves you wondering why they stopped short of perfection.
My point here isn't to neg on these devices, they are both incredible devices. Those raving about them have every right to do so. My point is that there is more to it than meets the eye, or the 'spec list'. There is more nuance to these recommendations and making sure you're getting the best out of your investment.

Venty vs Tinymight 2: Which To Buy?
Where do you begin when comparing two top tier devices?
The Finnish-made Tinymight 2 has created quite a buzz thanks to its amazing 3-5 second heat-up time and top-notch vapour quality. Our tests comparing the Tinymight 2 and Venty show that Tinymight's full convection system delivers quick, flavorful vapour almost right away where as the Venty is more of a build up. The TM2 premium vaporizer comes with user-replaceable 18650 batteries, which makes it perfect for using anywhere.
These portable vaporizers stand out because they each take their own approach to vapour production and user experience. The Tinymight 2's On-demand and Session Modes let patients choose how they want to medicate, while the Venty shines in other ways. These differences can really change how medical users handle their daily treatment.
I've looked at what matters most to customers, and we'll show you how these top dry herb vaporizers match up in design, vapour quality, battery life, and maintenance. By the time you finish reading, you'll know which device will work best for your medical cannabis needs in 2026.
Continued below.

3 Things to Consider
Both devices perform really well in their own way. So to decide which is better for you, it really comes down to these three key differences.
Design and Portability: Tinymight 2 vs Venty Form Factor

The Tinymight 2 and Venty vaporizer have completely different design philosophies. The sort of thing I love about comparing these devices is their unique design approaches to vapourisng medical cannabis flower.
They are both fantastic pieces of kit, so when it comes down to comparison, things such as size/ form are well worth consideration.
Build Materials: Wood and Glass vs Plastic and Metal
The Tinymight 2 shows off beautiful Finnish craftsmanship with its American walnut wood body that goes together with stainless steel, aluminium, and quartz glass parts [1]. You'll feel its premium quality the moment you hold it.
The Venty takes Storz & Bickel's tried-and-true approach with medical-grade plastic construction.
Medical patients care about materials beyond looks. The Tinymight 2's wooden body keeps your hands comfortable during long sessions thanks to great heat insulation [2]. The glass parts let you taste therapeutic terpenes exactly as they should be [3].
Size and Weight: Pocketability vs Handheld Comfort
The Tinymight 2 weighs 250g and has a on off center oval cylinder shape (14.5cm tall with 4.5cm diameter). It fits in pockets better than you'd expect [4]. A drawstring pouch comes with it to keep it safe while carrying [5]. You can also remove the glass stem to make it more compact for travel.
This device feels solid and premium, though you'll notice its weight in your pocket [5]. The top has a smart multitool built right in - you can adjust the chamber size, stir herbs, or tamp loads. It's a clever touch that makes using the device much easier [2].
The Venty is more slimline, and rounded in the hand, but is a much taller device. Though it comfortably fits in pockets without feeling too bulky, the height may well poke out. At 252g there really isn't anything in it between the two devices in this regard.
Cooling Units: External Accessories vs Integrated System
These devices take totally different approaches to cooling. The Tinymight 2 uses removable glass stems, and you can get a short stem with glass balls inside that cool the vapour on its way to your mouth [5]. This works great even without water cooling.
The glass parts need more careful handling than the Venty's built-in plastic cooling system [3]. All the same, medical users who want pure taste will appreciate that glass pathway since it won't affect their medication's flavour as much as plastic can [3].
However, don't let that sway you from the Venty. The increased air travel makes a big difference to smoothing out the vapour. Furthermore, if like me you are prone to knocking over or dropping things from time to time, the peace of mind of the plastic housing and mouthpiece not breaking goes a long way.

Heating Systems and Vapour Quality

These devices create different experiences for medical cannabis patients, though they ultimately do the same thing. The way in which this achieve this is via different approaches. This has key differences both in flavour/ vapour production, but also on how hands on you need to be to get everything out of your flower.
Heating Method: Full Convection vs Hybrid Convection
The Tinymight 2 uses pure convection heating. Hot air flows through your ground herb without touching heated surfaces [6]. This method will give a better preservation of delicate terpenes and delivers unaltered medicinal compounds. The Venty takes a different approach with hybrid heating that combines conduction and convection to extract compounds [7].
The key differences that makes to the end user is that the TM2 has stronger more efficient extraction initially, but then requires stirring to extract the flower evenly. Not something practical when out and about in windy conditions. Where as the Venty, which still produces great flavour and vapour, will evenly process your flower without having to open it back up again.
Heat-up Time: 5 Seconds vs 20 Seconds
Patients who need quick relief will appreciate Tinymight 2's quick 3-5 second heat-up time [1]. The Venty takes about 20 seconds to heat up [8], but that's still faster than most medical vaporizers available today. We have moved on from the days over waiting over a minute for our devices to warm up when we are stood outside in the cold. So heat up times tend to be less of a concern, but there is no arguing that the TM2 has a huge edge on the Venty in terms of heat up time!
On-Demand vs Session Mode: Flexibility vs Simplicity
Advanced medical users will find the operational style to be the most important difference. The Tinymight 2 comes with both on-demand and session modes [10]. This works great for patients who switch between quick symptom relief and longer sessions. The on-demand mode heats only when you activate it and extracts compounds in seconds [11]. This makes it ideal to microdose or manage sudden symptoms.
To put it simply, you hold the button down, wait for it to reach temp and give you a light vibration to know, and you inhale for as long as you need to before letting go and the device cools back down. This means it's only running heat/ power when you need it. Where as session mode will act like the Venty where once it's on, it stays at temp until you turn it off or it auto shuts off.
There are pros and cons to both approaches. Session mode suits the Venty due to the way it extracts and is used, where as I find the TM2 suits on demand mode more due to how much faster it processes material. This saves battery life leaving more sessions between charges.
Vapour Density and Flavour: Customisation vs Consistency
The Tinymight 2 stands out with its analogue dial that lets you set temperatures from approximately 120°C to 240°C [1]. The device's all-glass vapour path delivers pure flavour [9]. However some do comment on the fact that the dial isn't precise enough where as with the Venty you can set the exact temperature you want to hit.
The Venty also boasts a great feature, the variable airflow. This gives you far more control over the density of your vapour and extent of extraction. So if you'd rather keep things smoother and lighter you can keep the airflow open, but if you want dense vapour extracting every last bit you can close the airflow right down. Something you can't do at all with the Tinymight 2.

Battery Life and Charging Options

Battery performance makes all the difference for medical cannabis patients that need reliable medication throughout the day. How you manage that and whether it matters will depend on how often you dose throughout the day, and if you need to use your devices much out and about.
Both of these devices have great battery life, but there are some key differences.
Battery Type: Replaceable 18650 vs Built-in 5940mAh
The Tinymight 2 comes with a user-replaceable 18650 battery system that solves one of the biggest problems with sealed-battery vaporizers [6]. This design is a great way to get extended sessions when you're away from power sources. Carrying spare batteries means you'll have full charges ready to go, no cables needed [6]. Though this does require an external batter charger and buying spares.
The Venty has a built in battery that can have up to 6-8 sessions per charge, and honestly for most people this is more than enough for most days. Especially as it can be topped up quickly via USB C. However the downside here is longevity. Over time, batteries degrade. My Venty with over 1,200 hours now has 4-6 sessions per charge despite operating like new in every other way. So it would have been great to simply swap that battery out and get it back to new.
Charging Speed: USB-C Fast Charging Comparison
Both devices offer USB C charging, though in my experience the TM2 has the slight edge in charging time, there really isn't much in it. You may find external battery chargers take a little longer, but seeing as it enables you to simply swap a battery out this isn't much of a concern.
The Venty still charges incredibly fast, and gets you back up and running in no time. If you are caught short with a dead battery, a quick twenty minute charge will give you enough juice for your next dose before giving it a full charge if you're caught in a pinch.
Pass-through Charging and Portability Impact
Medical users never miss a dose with pass-through vaping, you can use the device while it charges [13]. The medicine stays available even during charging cycles. The Tinymight 2's replaceable battery setup lets patients switch between home use and longer trips, with multiple ways to keep the power flowing [6]. Though it does let you pass through charge if you're on a one battery setup.
The Venty also allows pass through charging, so you can use it for a session whilst it's plugged in. Though I would only advise this once the battery bar is past 2 bars to ensure it can keep up with your for your full dose.

Ease of Use and Maintenance for Medical Users

Medical cannabis patients often prioritize ease of use over technical specs when choosing a vaporizer in their daily medication routine.
In addition, it's no secret it's not our favourite time when it comes to cleaning out our Dry Herb vapes. So choosing a device that is easy to maintain goes a long way to improving our medication routines.
User Interface: Dial vs Digital Display
The Tinymight 2's analogue temperature dial combines simplicity with great control. This rotary control gives tactile feedback that helps patients with dexterity issues, unlike digital interfaces. The Venty takes a different approach with its full digital display, precise temperature buttons, and Superboost options that increase temperature by 27°F (15°C) with double-taps of the power button [14]. The Venty also connects through Bluetooth to a web app where users can customise boost intervals, haptic feedback, and battery settings [14].
These differences have a lot of pros and cons.
Tinymight 2: The dial is great in the sense that it is out of the way, and once it's set you don't have to worry about it. However it isn't the easiest to read for everyone, and the fiddly nature of adjustment can be a problem for some. Furthermore, having to compare the setting to a chart to work out your temp isn't favoured by everyone.
Venty: The big buttons and bright screen make it really easy for anyone to pick it up, and get it setup with intuition alone. Plus you can keep track of your battery level with ease. Having said that, the big screen uses extra battery, and can be quite bright when sitting in a darker environment.
Overall the Venty is more user friendly when it comes to temp settings and functionality, but this won't matter too much to those leaning towards the TM2 for it's other features.
Cleaning Frequency: Glass Stem vs Cooling Unit
These devices need different cleaning schedules. Daily users should clean the Tinymight 2's glass stem weekly, while occasional users can stretch it to 2-3 weeks [15]. The cleaning process needs you to take apart the stem and soak its parts in isopropyl alcohol [16]. The Venty's cooling unit just needs regular cleaning after about twelve sessions to keep vapour quality at its best [17] due to the extract airways that collect reclaim.
Ultimately the TM2 has a much simpler piece to clean as it has a small glass tube, with the airflow modulator inside. These can easily be taken apart and soaked. Where as the Venty has a much more complex cooling unit. This is great for cooling your vapour, but means there is more surface to clean during maintenance.
Accessories Ecosystem: Capsules, Adapters, and More
Dosing capsules are great for both vaporizers. They keep the devices clean and help deliver consistent medication [5]. I find that dosing capsules make a particular improvement wth the TM2 where it helps more even distribution of hot air resulting in less stirring being needed.
The Venty comes with fewer accessories than the TM2, which has glass adapters for water filtration [14]. Tools like scales, grinders, and storage solutions are a great way to get more from your medical cannabis, no matter which device you pick [2]. Conclusion
The Tinymight 2 and Venty show two completely different ways to vaporise medical cannabis. Each device has its own strengths that make sense for different patient needs.
These premium devices shine in their own ways when you look at what matters to medical users. The Tinymight 2's wooden body and glass parts give you exceptional flavour purity. It heats up in just 3-5 seconds - perfect when you just need quick symptom relief. It also lets you switch between quick hits and longer sessions.
The Venty stands out with its reliable performance, exact digital temperature controls, and a battery that lasts for more than 10 sessions. While it takes a bit longer to heat up, its built-in cooling system and medical-grade build are exactly what many patients value most.
The way these devices handle power is quite different too. The Tinymight 2's replaceable batteries are great for patients who need medication all day - you'll never run out of power with spare batteries. The Venty's big built-in battery means you won't have to carry extras, but you'll need to plug it in eventually.
Each device has its own way of staying clean. The Tinymight 2's glass path will give a pure taste but needs regular cleaning. The Venty's cooling unit is different but needs cleaning just as often.
Your choice between these vaporizers really comes down to what you just need from your medical device. The handcrafted Tinymight 2 might be your pick if you want instant relief, the best flavour, and backup power options. The Venty could be better if you love consistency, digital controls, and simpler operation that simply churns through material without stirring.
Both are exceptional choices for medical cannabis users, each with unique advantages. The right one depends on your symptoms, when you take your medicine, and what matters most to you. Either way, both are a big improvement over smoking, giving you the therapeutic benefits while being much easier on your lungs - and that's what matters most for any medical cannabis patient.
The key question is, which do I recommend most often?
I get asked for vape recommendations almost every single day by our customers and fellow patients. Everyones needs and preferences are different, and yet between these two devices one comes up more often than the other by far and that's down to it's simplicity.
The Venty is recommended more often than the Tinymight 2 simply because when there is so little between them, the fact you don't have to stir the Venty makes your dosing routine far more straight forward and consistent.
Out the box you don't have to learn about how to grind your flower, or pack it for the device. You can make these choices down to your own preferences and load the Venty your way as it will simply handle it. Furthermore you can still dial it in with the controllable airflow.
The Tinymight 2 absolutely has the edge on throat hit and efficiency of your dosing, but I find the practicality is more reserved for advanced users, or those who are swapping over from smoking/ used to bongs.
So there you have it, i've done my best to break down every little detail about these two devices to help you make the decision on which is better suited for your needs.
You can rest assured, that either way you can't lose with these devices!
Key Takeaways
These insights will help medical cannabis patients choose between two premium vaporizers based on their specific therapeutic needs and usage patterns.
• The Tinymight 2 heats in 3-5 seconds for instant relief, whilst the Venty takes 20 seconds but offers more consistent sessions for regular dosing schedules.
• Tinymight 2's replaceable 18650 batteries provide unlimited portable power with spares, whereas Venty's built-in battery lasts 10+ sessions but requires recharging.
• Pure convection heating in Tinymight 2 preserves terpene flavours through glass pathways, ideal for patients monitoring therapeutic effects through taste.
• Venty's digital controls and Bluetooth app offer precise temperature management and dosing consistency, better suited for patients requiring standardised medication routines.
• The Venty churns through flower no matter how coarse your grind is, or how tight you pack the chamber. It consistently processes flower without interuption.
• Both devices require similar weekly maintenance, but Tinymight 2's glass components need careful handling compared to Venty's durable plastic construction.
The choice ultimately depends on whether you prioritise instant on-demand relief (Tinymight 2) or consistent session-based medication (Venty), with both offering significant health advantages over combustion methods.
