Curaleaf Liquid Que Cart and new Medical Grade Inhaler Review
It wasn't too long ago that Carts weren't available on prescription but things have already come a long way since then with a wide range of offerings and more just around the corner.
The latest release from Curaleaf is an update to their previous 510 Carts with a brand new branded 'Medical Grade Inhale' aka battery.
There's been a bit of controversy around this move by Curaleaf in the forums, so as I regularly use their old carts and was offered the new device/ Que cartridge I thought i'd give it a go and offer up my honest opinion!
*Disclaimer*
Any experiences/ benefits described below are my own, and by no means should be taken as medical benefits / claims. This strain has been prescribed by my doctor for my specific condition and needs. It is important to talk to your Dr about your specific needs and see if they have other patients similar to you who have benefited from this strain or others. This post is purely meant as a useful reference for you to then do further research from. My tolerance, condition and experience will be greatly different to some.

Curaleaf Liquid Que Cart and new Medical Grade Inhaler Review
Introduction
We are back with another review but rather than a strain, its about a new device and pod system from Curaleaf.
So here we have the latest offering from Curaleaf that is replacing their 510 thread Jack Herer Carts. Though they name is a 'Medical Grade Inhaler', in easy terms this is curaleafs new cart battery that fits the pods that Jack Herer now come in.
There has been a mixed reception to the new of this device, some of it well founded imo, but overall my takeaway having tested this out is better than expected. So as we jump into this breakdown i'll show you what the new device looks like, discuss quality and usage and compare the new pods to the classic 510 thread carts we are all used to!
As always, if anyone has had this strain tested, or has sample COA that you think would be useful to attach here, please feel free to reach out and we’d be happy to showcase it here, along with any relevant reference back to you, and a cheeky gift card for our site as a thanks!

Main Review
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my review of the New Pod and Cart Battery by Curaleaf.
This was sourced legally via prescription to myself with chronic pain being the primary condition this is used for. I hope my feedback here is useful for you to make an informed choice on future prescriptions, or to avoid it depending on your needs. I always welcome feedback in terms of other specific points I could cover in these reviews. Please keep in mind that i'm not a medical professional and these are no more than my personal anecdotal experiences.
The way this device and prescription product is being discussed is with relation to a chronic pain prescription relating to nerve pain and severe headaches.

The Device
Ok so let's get you to up to speed on this device, what it is, and why there are concerns by some medical patients about this move by Curaleaf.
Firstly this device is a battery that operates and heats medical cannabis extracts to be readily inhaled. These extracts are typically housed in what is refered to as a 'Cart' or 'Cartridge'. For the most part these all come with the same thread which can screw onto universal batteries leaving choice of size/ functions etc to the user for their requirements.
This device strays away from this universal thread size in favour of a simple to use magnetic pod that slips into place with ease. This is a major plus for those with arthritis or other issues with their fingers as it reduces setup with minimal detexterity required.
Furthermore, there is no button to use or click in quick succsession which is another great feature in terms of accessibility.
Having said this, there is controversy around the fact that you are stuck only using their branded battery device. It isn't the most discreet in terms of logo, and some prefer to have the option to change the power of the device, or to ue preheat functions. None of which this battery offers. So for many, they see this as limiting as they have already invested in a 510 battery that is no longer compatible.
I understand these concerns, as I have been prescribed the discontinued Jack Herer cart and have bought a battery for it which would now be redundant for this cart. However, I also speak to customers and patients regularly who simply don't need these options, and just want something they can easily put together and crack on with. There is no arguing that this new device delivers that to them.
So let's get into it and you can make your own decision.
Initial observation
I wasn't expecting too much as I had seen the announcements of it's release, but was pleasantly surprised in the build quality. The metal finish is extremely similar to that of my CCELL SILO (but lighter in weight) and ultimately fits very nicely in the hand and pocket alike.
The contents of the box are nice and simple with everything you need to know info wise, the device itself and a charger (It takes USB C).
In terms of the pods, these are very similar to the 'JUUL' pod format in a small flat profile. You can see the contents quite clearly, although the top half of the tank isn't clearly visible due to the design.
The mouth piece is very large, and fits the lips a lot better than that of a typical rounded mouth piece.

510 Cart vs Pod - Which is better?
This is a hard direct comparison as battery also comes into this, and as I can't test them on the same battery/ power output it's somewhat difficult to asses the difference completely.
However, what's noteable is the difference in mouth feel and airflow. The pod system has the edge with a smoother draw making inhalation more pleasant than the more 'pierced' approach and pull required.
Another noteworthy comparison is the risk of damage. Carts have a single glass chamber protecting the distillte/ rosin/ extract from the outside world. Dropping an exposed cart in the wrong way can result in this glass breaking and ultimately wasting an expensive medicine. These pods don't have this risk in the same way due to the fact that the oil is in a chamber that is within the pod itself. So if the outside cracks, it doesn't neccesarly crack the inside wasting the material.
Cost - These workout the same, if not slighlty cheaper than the previous options. With this in mind it certainl makes the Pods a better choice.
Vapour - Now despite what I said above about direct comparisons i'm going to compare these as best as I can. So I set my old jack herer cart on low on a battery as it best matched the output of this device. With that in mind, there was little to no difference in flavour/ vapour production between the two. However the pull/ airflow of the pod was better than that of the old CCELL 510 and battery option. The pod felt lighter. Take what you will from this, as i'm sure a lot of this would be down to my device too, but it's notable that this device hits low and slow in my experience. This can be good for coil health, and prolonged useage, but may not be for everyone.
Budget-Friendly Dry Herb Vaporizers Under £100: Top Picks for UK Vapers

Are you searching for the best cheap dry herb vaporizer in the UK? As a medical cannabis patient, I know how challenging it can be to find an affordable yet high-quality vaporizer. Everyone touts Tiny Mights and Mighty, but let's be honest, the prescription is expensive enough as it is and not everyone can afford to throw £300 at something like this.

Context: I’m prescribed for chronic nerve pain with severe headaches that is accompanied by nausea/ gastro issues at times. I work full time and have a young family. As such, I have to find the balance between managing pain/ symptoms, and being functional in my various responsibilities. When it comes to carts/ pods, I use these when it is more convenient when out and about, or when things have flared up to the point where it's easier than loading my Venty or Tinymight 2. With this in mind, i'm talking about this from this perspective rather than someone who primarily use these only.
I'm a big fan of this method of consumption due to how efficient and discreet it is. Being able to manage a dose in under a minute with minimal smell and in a format that fits in your pocket with ease is a game changer. So when carts became available on the UK market it was exciting to finally be catching up with other countries.
I have been using the Jack Herer 510 thread carts since their release and have been perfectly happy with them for my needs. Admittedly I would prefer a full plant extract in cart format like Aurora, but as I also use flower with my prescription my cannabinoids requirements are stil being met.
Now, when it comes to how you prefer your vapour, everyone is different. Some prefer big clouds, where as others prefer sips. This device here, is for the latter. It runs the same as my other battery whilst it is set to low. This is great for those trying carts for the first time, and it is also great at protecting the coil so it doesn't burn too soon leaving you with wasted medicine.
Those who prefer a variable voltage battery so they can change the power may be left a little disappointed with being left at the lower end of things. However with long pulls this thing still delivers, it just misses some of the extra flavour and throat feel higher settings can offer.
The thing is though, I reckon anyone who is bothered about this is already the type of person who would have opted for a third party battery anyway. There are many options out there like this from CCELL that are cheap and able to quickly change settings. So in the end of the day this isn't out of the question for these patients. However, the problem is, this move by curaleaf has meant that you can no longer get 510 thread carts removing this option for those previously prescribed this product.
Ultimately, from a clinics perspective I get it. It's a fine product which is great for accessibility with those who have dexterity problems, boasts great ergenomics in the hand and a pleasant airflow and flavour from the pod. Without the button and variable voltage it also prevents new customers from over doing it, burning their coil early or ending up coughing from excessive vapour production. So all in all it's a great entry level and accessible product for their patients.
From a business perspective it certainly seems odd to restrict the existing customers who use this product, as I imagine many will now opt for another brand such as the Aurora Carts that still use a 510 thread. However in the end of the day, puting the accessibility and approachability first for their customers is a smart move, and for all we know they may have a variable voltage device for these pods just around the corner. We shall see!
5 Quick Pros and Cons

Pro - Super convenient and discreet.
The pods and battery are very small and fit in the palm of your hand. I imagine they'll even fit comfortably in the tiny pockets women trousers tend to have (What's with that btw?!).
As with all carts the vapour is minimal and disipates promptly. This device is on the lower end of the power spectrum meaning that it produces less odour than a variable voltage device is capable of.
Packaging for the pods that you have to carry with you is also still small and folds flat for easy transport.
The pod label is protected unlike previous carts where the label could be worn off potentially causing problems for verification.
Con - Limited to pre set power
This isn't a con for everyone, but for those preferring a little more flavour or larger vapour production per hit I can understand why this device may not be for them.
In the end of the day the battery itself retails around £10 so it's not a major investment in order to be able to use this setup. However £10 on top of an already expensive prescription invoice can effect your budget, so it's worth considering if you've already invested in a 510 battery.
Personally i'll continue to use this device as it has it's place and ultimately the lower power output will help the pod last for longer.

Pro - Looks like a regular vape
Not that you need to be, but some are understandably anxious about drawing attention to themselves when medicating in public. Though you are legally allowed to, I regularly have emails asking for support from patients who have been mishandled by police, security and their own workplaces. So it's understandable that you may want to minimise the chances of these errors happening in the first place.
So when it comes to this device, the size and profile is very similar to that of typical vapes you see out and about these days. So it blends in nicely. We have some some customers upset about the branding giving away what's on it. However, this is easily covered with your thumb/ hand when using if of concern. Or seeing as many of us have Iso in to clean our dry herb vaporizers, you could potentially use some of this to lightly dab the print off (Please don't mess this up and blame me if you try it!)
Other Strain Reviews

Aurora Sourdough
A unique aroma that pleases the senses and soothes my symptoms with ease. This 29% strain has been making waves as it's difficult for pharmacies to keep it in stock, and with good reason.
This potent strain is ideal for my afternoon and evening doses when my back starts getting sassy.

Curaleaf LA Kush Cake
LA Kush Cake was a stable for me for a while. It's a strong strain with excellent bud structure and typically consistent from batch to batch.
At 25% it sits as one of the stronger options, but can be used to balance symptoms in the day in light measures!

Wedding Pop Triangle (WPT)
I had no idea what to expect when this was added to my prescripton, but when I stuck my nose into the bag I was immediately transported back to Amsterdam in 2007. A familiar sour tone came flooding through backed up with some other familiar tones that I still cannot put my finger in. All in all I was really happy and the effects backed it up.
Sadly from batch to batch I haven't always had that same impactiful terpene profile, though effects have typically remained consistent. My recent two batches have been on point though!

Overall impression
So I have focused on the issues some patients have had with this product, but don't let that get in the way of what this is. A solid medical cannabis device that consistently produces smooth vapour using their Jack Herer pods.
It's exciting to see clinics jumping into this side of things whether you think what they have chosen to do is right or not. The fact is, they're now taking these products seriously, and investing money in exploring options to support these better for patients. This product makes carts more accessible to some patients, and the feedback heard here and from others will be heard and shape future iterations and what other clinics will choose to do.
One way or another this is a step in the right direction bridging that gap of accessibility and ease of use to a broader set of patients.

“Medical cannabis has given me back control and vast improvement in terms of my quality of life day to day. Although I still struggle with my symptoms, this has enabled me to still be present and functional on the worse days, and given the peace of mind that knowings it's there if I need it on the better ones.”
