Aurora Pedanios Cosmic Cream 31% Medical Cannabis Strain review UK
A new very strong one that does not back down when it comes to effects.
This 31% THC strain from Aurora is prescribed to myself legally for helping to manage chronic pain issues. As it stands, i'm awaiting a serious operation and this strain is going to be the heavy hitter for me during this. As such I have looked at this review from the perspective of whether high potency actually equals better management.

“Medical cannabis has given me back control and vast improvement in terms of my quality of life day to day. Although I still struggle with my symptoms, this has enabled me to still be present and functional on the worse days, and given the peace of mind that knowings it's there if I need it on the better ones.”

Aurora Pedanios Cosmic Cream 31% Medical Cannabis Strain review UK
Introduction
We are back with another strain review with a very notable option from Aurora, Cosmic Cream.
This strain peaked interest early on due to confidently being across the 30% threshold. But as we know, THC isn't everything, especially when trying to produce a quality product in this restricted supply chain.
So how does this strain hold up? Does the potent THC results equal potent pain management? How is it cured and do the terps shine through?
Without giving too much away, I have a positive experience with this strain and though there is always room for improvement with cure/ terpenes, i'm very happy with the results. Having said that, we have also seen reports of mould and some seeds, so we jump into what to look out for though thankfully didn't experience any of this ourselves.
As always, if anyone has had this strain tested, or has sample COA that you think would be useful to attach here, please feel free to reach out and we’d be happy to showcase it here, along with any relevant reference back to you, and a cheeky gift card for our site as a thanks!
Main Review
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my review of the Aurora Pedanios Cosmic Cream 31% Medical Cannabis Strain.
This was sourced legally via prescription to myself with chronic pain being the primary condition this is used for. I hope my feedback here is useful for you to make an informed choice on future prescriptions, or to avoid it depending on your needs. I always welcome feedback in terms of other specific points I could cover in these reviews. Please keep in mind that i'm not a medical professional and these are no more than my personal anecdotal experiences.
The way this strain is being discussed is with relation to a chronic pain prescription relating to nerve pain and severe headaches, though it has also proven helpful beyond these treatments.

Device/ Setup
Ok so we’ve taken your feedback onboard and updated some of the fields and points of interest in our reviews. I will now include the setup I have tested this strain with and preferences for it as a result.
I appreciate everyone will have different setups for different reasons. Personally convenience/ ease of use is a priority with peace of mind that things are backed up with a warranty.
This has led me to investing on the higher end of things, however with that said, I have encountered multiple E04 errors with my Venty. So though I like the device and think it operates brilliantly, keep in mind that this error is still prevelant and may require a replacement from S&B if it happens to you. I'm on my third Venty at the moment!
Main device: Storz and Bickel Venty
Secondary Devices: Storz and Bickel Volcano Hybrid , Pax Plus & Dynvap M.
Outcome:
This strain came with some humidity packs, which was welcomed due to the slightly dry cure. However the cure wasn't too bad off the bat. It doesn't turn to dust, which was a concern with it being a higher potency strain.
So with a medium grind, I have found this vapes beautifuly in my venty, whilst somewhat understated in my pax.
The flavour on both was excellent, with a unique initial terpene profile that is backed by a smooth 'creamy' vapour afterwards.
On both devices i've tested this on it does vape for a pro longed amount of time. More so than I expected but ultimately provides greater relief for me as a result.
Initial observation upon opening (nug shape/ density/ cure and shake content):
I've been prescribed various Auroroa strains since the start of my medical cannabis journey. Though depending on whether it was canadian grown/ eu grown there were some notable differences. Over all, there is a typical standard from Aurora that you come to expect when it comes to cure style and terpene preservation. There is always room for improvement, but generally speaking they have been consistent for me over the years.
This strain was no different. Though a little muted at first, after exchanging the air and some time in a glass jar the terpenes began to pop. I used the included humidity pack and further improvement was found after a few days.
This review is based off of two batches i've received and both came with minimal shake, and medium sized well trimed buds.
The nugs were dense, crisp on the outside but with some bounce in the centre, but this was much more balanced after a few days curing with the correct humidity.
Though it is slightly on the dry side,
overall my initial impressions were positive and only further improved in the coming days with some time to breathe in a glass UV storage jar at home.
Any improvement after storage change and curing?
My go to is to transfer my flower from the plastic tubs to UV protected glass storage (Whilst keeping original packs and labels on hand for verification and being out of the house!) in my opinion it just balances it out a little with the terps and helps any throat irritation that may occur. I have to avoid coughing and other things that can create intercranial pressure due to a brain op. As such trying to ensure the cure and setup for my vape minimises these chances are really important.
This strain was a little crisp but with some evident moisture in the centre of the nugs. So the provided humidity pack was very welcome. If you want to grab some spares for this strain or others putting a Boveda Pack in there to help reintroduce some of the moisture in the cure is You can buy jars that include free Boveda HERE which will get you set up nicely.
Though it's worth noting any glass jar will do, though preferabbly one that blocks UV unless it's to be kept in a cupboard etc anyway! So no harm in using a cheap mason jar if you keep this in mind!
Though you can never bring back what has been lost I personally have seen a difference with this process after 2-3 days. With grapefruit gift the terps are there, but this brightened them a little meaning that the pungent umami/ grapefruit tone was balanced with a more rounded flavour for those first few hits.
Budget-Friendly Dry Herb Vaporizers Under £100: Top Picks for UK Vapers
Are you searching for the best cheap dry herb vaporizer in the UK? As a medical cannabis patient, I know how challenging it can be to find an affordable yet high-quality vaporizer. Everyone touts Tiny Mights and Mighty, but let's be honest, the prescription is expensive enough as it is and not everyone can afford to throw £300 at something like this.

Context: I’m prescribed for chronic nerve pain with severe headaches that is accompanied by nausea/ gastro issues at times. I work full time and have a young family. As such, I have to find the balance between managing pain/ symptoms, and being functional in my various responsibilities.
In turn, the split between a day time and night time strain gives me that ability to address deeper pains in the evenings where it may be more sedating, whilst using a more uplifting/ cerebral strain for day time to help get me through without any unwanted side effects. This has been key to me taking back my life and maintaining better quality of life all in.
With the above in mind, this strain has some heavy lifting for me. At the time of writing this I am 22 days away from going in for a serious brain operation having only just had one 11 months ago. So when it comes to pain management this is replacing morphine for me.
I was relieved to find this strain effective for the deeper rooted pains, headaches and maintaining my quality of sleep. Over all the vapour it produces is smooth despite being so strong, and as such has been great to manage my symptoms even when i'm having a particularly bad flare up.
Unfortunately my symptoms have been progressing, so I have had more days where I require better management with a stronger strain in the daytime. With this strain it has still been effective for this by using a slightly lighter dose in the daytime. I have made the mistake of over doing it when I had a particularly bad day and it was quite sedative for my needs on that day. So you've been warned.
Over all this is a well rounded strain and although there have been reports of mould, I haven't experienced it first hand. I would be concerned that i'd be unlucky to get a batch moving forward, however on the whole the other feedback I have seen with this strain aligns to my own experience.
5 Quick Bits about Aurora Cosmic Cream
Splitting the nug:
Often once trimmed, irradiated, and transported/ stored, the trichomes on the outside can become a little lack lustre. By pinching open a nug you can release a fresher terpene profile and observe the trichrome formation a bit better. So I try and take a photo of a freshly opened nug to display this and provide as much detail about a strain as possible for you guys.
As always, if you think of another metric/ approach that you would like us to take in these reviews, feel free to reach out and let us know!
For me Cosmic Cream arrived well trimmed and cared for though a little brittle on the outside. As such some of the trichomes weren't in the best shape on the outside. However when ripping open you find some of that hidden moisture and as such the internal terpenes shine brighter than the outside. So it's worth it for this alone.
It also showed well produced and balanced trichome heads ranging from clear to cloudy orange. This backs up the well rounded and smooth vapour it produces.
We will be releasing a video inspection of this strain to show it off. We will be returning to have an in depth look. So be sure to check out our youtube channel and stay tuned for an update there.
How Does It Grind?
These do need a humidity pack to really shine. They came with a pack which is awesome, but if for whatever reason yours doesnt you can grab a Boveda to take the edge off the dryness.
With stronger strains, if they're overly dry and the grind turns to dust it can suddenly create a much stronger dose that fits in the chamber than if it was loose. So this was one thing I was concerned about when being prescribed this new strain. However even before a few days curing with a humidity pack, this strain ground well meaning you could avoid this. If you prefer a finer grind you can achieve it, but it's forgiving for the first few twists to create a nice medium grind.
Unlike other stronger strains this hasn't been gunking up my screens as quickly, and I assume this is down to how it grinds comparitively.
Batch No
For reference we usually include a batch number. Some strains have varied over time, often for the better. So we figured it's best to have a reference point for when we reviewed this for context.
This was from batch: E163
We had no issues with our batch, but have seen examples of those who have found mould as well as the odd seed. In terms of seeds, our opinion is as long as it's not riddled, then the odd seed is bound to happen from time to time. However, mould is obviously unacceptable. We inspected our batch thoroughly incluidng under a microscope and found no indicators personally. This gave us peace of mind, and would suggest any others getting this strain in check it out visually just to be safe. Overall the reports of this were relatively low meaning it seems to be a small amount impacted.
Throat issues/ catching/ allergies?:
In the past I have had hay fever like symptoms with a scratchy throat/ runny eyes and sneezing around loading my device or vaping certain strains. After a recent brain operation, avoiding coughing is a big priority for me to help reduce pressure. So I take note whether this is an issue on my reviews incase anyone else has the same problem!
I didn't encounter any issues with this strain thankfully. After another recent strain had given me the odd sneeze this hasn't at all. So thankfully i'll be keeping this in the bank so to speak as one of the main go tos for more advanced pain management.
Just because I didn't have a reaction doesn't mean you won't if you have similar sensitivities. I will note there is a unique terpene profile present in this, so if you haven't encountered these terpenes it could be an issue. Though I haven't seen others comment on this yet, suggesting it's a relatively safe strain with regards to this.
Side effects/ issues?
I haven't had any noted side effects from this strain. High potency strains can have the effect of raised blood pressure, headaches and also a sedative effect that can sometimes carry to the next day. I haven't found any of these issues with this strain personally which as been great news.
Other high potency strains that were weaker than this have created these issues for me in the past. So it's a relief to not have to compromise on which symptoms I can relieve whilst also onsetting other issues. So this is a big thumbs up for me as a stable yet potent solutuon to my needs.
It works well to balance indicas sometimes using a CBD Oil in conjunction with my dry herb vape if I need to maintain clarity in the day.
Strain Profile: Aurora Cosmic Cream 31% thc
Info from www.MedBud.wiki:
"Some strains take you far – but Cosmic Cream takes you back. This nostalgic indica by San Rafael ’71 offers a comforting aroma of sweet and fruity cereal milk with earthy undertones.
Bred from exclusive lineages developed by our leading genetics lab in Comox, BC, Cosmic Cream displays gorgeous and green acorn-shaped buds frosted over in trichomes. Grown under the highest quality standards using hang-drying and hand-manicuring techniques, then carefully hand-bottled with a humidity pack included."
Consistency
I can't comment on consistency across batches yet as this was a replacement for another out of stock strain. The two lots i've had so far have been consistent. Though as mentioned above some have found seeds/ mould. So always worth checking things through for peace of mind.
Other Strain Reviews
Aurora Sourdough
A unique aroma that pleases the senses and soothes my symptoms with ease. This 29% strain has been making waves as it's difficult for pharmacies to keep it in stock, and with good reason.
This potent strain is ideal for my afternoon and evening doses when my back starts getting sassy.

Curaleaf LA Kush Cake
LA Kush Cake was a stable for me for a while. It's a strong strain with excellent bud structure and typically consistent from batch to batch.
At 25% it sits as one of the stronger options, but can be used to balance symptoms in the day in light measures!

Wedding Pop Triangle (WPT)
I had no idea what to expect when this was added to my prescripton, but when I stuck my nose into the bag I was immediately transported back to Amsterdam in 2007. A familiar sour tone came flooding through backed up with some other familiar tones that I still cannot put my finger in. All in all I was really happy and the effects backed it up.
Sadly from batch to batch I haven't always had that same impactiful terpene profile, though effects have typically remained consistent. My recent two batches have been on point though!

Overall impression
Cosmic cream is a heavy hitter with smooth vapour production and has gone above and beyond for what I need for my condition. I'm glad to have a well rounded strain that delivers a more efficient dose for me without being too high on the price point.
At £8.50/ g this isn't cheap, but having recently had GMO at £10/g its a big saving for me whilst overall being much better in my opinion.
With that said the terpene profile may not be for everyone and the 31% may be a bit too sedative if you need to remain productive whilst using it. It's one of the first strains in a while to have a noticable 'couch lock' effective if not careful.
I'm looking forward to future batches and hope that this remains a consistent option on the formulary!
As always, thanks for taking the time to read through my review and check out our website. It means a lot!
Catch you next time!
