Welcome to our review of Pineapple Fruz by Four20 Pharma. Though we have had a few strains from Four20 over the years, I hadn't seen this level of quality from them until now. I have had two recent strains from them that have been bursting with terps compared to prior strains, great bud formation and effects ideal for my condition.
So let's jump into what makes Pineapple Fruz one of my current favs.

Introduction
At this point I have tried a few options by Four20 over the years as you'll see from our previous reviews. They have offered some unique and effective strains over the years, but personally they have always been lacking a little on the cure/ terpene preservation side of things.
I'm glad to say that they have turned a corner with my recent batches with this strain now being one of my recent favourites.
As we all know it goes beyond just cure/ terpenes though, initial impressions can be great whilst still being medically ineffective for your needs. So with this 30% strain by Four20, does it deliver? Let's jump in to find out.

This was sourced legally via prescription to myself with chronic pain being the primary condition this is used for. I hope my feedback here is useful for you to make an informed choice on future prescriptions, or to avoid it depending on your needs. I always welcome feedback in terms of other specific points I could cover in these reviews. Please keep in mind that i'm not a medical professional and these are no more than my personal anecdotal experiences.
The way this strain is being discussed is with relation to a chronic pain prescription relating to nerve pain and severe headaches, though it has also proven helpful beyond these treatments.

Outcome:
I am a big fan of this strain, though it could do with a little extra love from a humidity pack it performs well out of the bag. With a smooth and flavourful vapour that lasts.
I would say that the Venty and GT4 handled this strain particularly well, though opting for a bag from the Volcano/ Arizier Extreme Q certainly improved the overall experience.
Initial observation upon opening (nug shape/ density/ cure and shake content):
First impressions were very positive from the smell alone. One of those where five minutes later my wife made a comment about the smell despite only openning the bag for a quick look.
The profile bursts through with clear pineapple indicators but a complexity that had a nod towards the peppery nature of the LA Kush Cake that used to be available.
Overall nug size was on the smaller side of things, but it hasnt effected the quality/ experience personally. The buds are well trimmed and uniform in finish, and breakdown easily in the grinder revealing a pungent profile much more complex than the initial nose upon openning.
Shake wise it was minimal with little to no fall off in the bag and the density of nugs were a medium firm with plenty coming out in the grind.

How Accessible Is The Bag/ Pot?
I've decided to introduce this category to our medical strain reviews this year. With more and more producers and updating packaging from previous brands coming out, we have been getting more and more feedback about some of the pesky child safety precautions. Since we've introduced this i've had a few messages/ emails saying how handy this has been. So i'm glad to see it's been useful!
Now let me start off with the fact that having these features is important! However, for some patients with dexterity issues, or those who may struggle when needing a dose quickly, these can become a bit of a hurdle.
So I thought I would include which type of mechanism if any each strain uses. Obviously they could swap packaging out on future batches but for the most part i'm guessing they'll be quite consistent. So if these are issues for you it'll help you avoid anything you find troublesome.
What type of safety feature does it have?
In the case of Four20's Pineapple Fruz, it has one of the easier bags to open. Inside the lip of the bag you will have to seperate the sides of the openning to grip them and then open like you would any other bag. Of all of the mechanisms I find this the most accessible as the tab is easy to grab, and from there it's a pretty standard process to open it up.
One negative I will say about accessibility with Four20 products is that they come in those cardboard boxes with the label attached outside. Those who've been reading my reviews over the last few years will know this winds me up a little! When we are required to carry original packaging with attached label, including these boxes and attaching the labels to them makes it a bit of a headache whilst out and about. The boxes are flimsy and don't hold up well to traveling in bags, and ultimately means we have to carry something extra that gets in the way and serves no purpose.
For the sake of removing the pouch and fixing the prescription label to this it would drastically improve the experience for those of us who do carry our prescriptions out and about with us.
Any improvement after storage change and curing?
Overall it's well prepared to go straight into your dry herb vape but could certainly do with a little more balance moisture wise. A day or two with the humidity packs solved this easily.
I do personaly find that glass jars are always better than mylar bags or tubs, so did find a improvement after a few days being transfered out with Pineapple Fruze. When a strain has such a lovely terpene profile, it's always great to be able to bring the best out of it not only for flavour/ smell but also for harshness of vapour as well.

Context: I’m prescribed for chronic nerve pain with severe headaches that is accompanied by nausea/ gastro issues at times. I work full time and have a young family. As such, I have to find the balance between managing pain/ symptoms, and being functional in my various responsibilities.
In turn, the split between a day time and night time strain gives me that ability to address deeper pains in the evenings where it may be more sedating, whilst using a more uplifting/ cerebral strain for day time to help get me through without any unwanted side effects. This has been key to me taking back my life and maintaining better quality of life all in.
Getting into it
I wasn't sure what to expect when adding this to my prescription, as mentioned above I have enjoyed Four20 products in the past but they were always lacking a little on the profile/ cure. So when receiving this and another strain from them recently I was surprised to see such a leap in quality for them.
This replaced another high strength option for me as it was out of stock. It's always a little concerning when this happens, especially when the OOS product was working well before. However with Pineapple Fruz I had nothing to worry about.
The potency is there but with a harsh vapour and providing a very nice overall profile for an enjoyable medicating experience. Unlike some other >30% strains this doesn't have any rush to it, and helps me manage my pain without knocking me for six. So I can still remain productive and effective whilst using this strain.
The overall bud formation and trim shows a cared for plant, with strong consistent genetics. I sure hope to see this strain become a regular in their offerings moving forwards.

How Does It Grind?
In short, it grinds beautifully. Though a little crisp on the outside with some nugs, the moisture levels inside make for a light fluffy grind with minimal effort. A few more twists will get you to a medium/ fine grind very easily. Though who like an ultra fine grind will have to work for it a little but it will be bountiful when you have.
The profile truly sings once it's been ground up, so I would highly recommend taking a moment to enjoy it when you lift the lid off your grinder.
Though the flower has a good density, there isn't too much resistance in the grind making it easy to process for those with dexterity issues.
Batch No
For reference we usually include a batch number. Some strains have varied over time, often for the better. So we figured it's best to have a reference point for when we reviewed this for context.

This is a relatively new strain so I have only tried this batch. However from what I have experienced, and seen online it seems pretty consistent in terms of quality, cure and effects so far!
Throat issues/ catching/ allergies?:
In the past I have had hay fever like symptoms with a scratchy throat/ runny eyes and sneezing around loading my device or vaping certain strains. After a recent brain operation, avoiding coughing is a big priority for me to help reduce pressure. So I take note whether this is an issue on my reviews incase anyone else has the same problem!
I have experienced none of these issues with this strain thankfully. This wold obviously vary from person to person but hopefully this is an indicator that for most it'll be fine.

Curaleafs latest offering is their brand new medical inhaler device. Essentially a battery system designed to use their new pre filled pods for medically prescribed medical cannabis extracts. I have broken down the ins and outs of the new device and pods to compare to the previous traditional 510 thread carts that were on offer.
Overall impression
I'm very happy with this strain, and exciting to see brands like Four20 take a step up in quality on this side of things. Hopefully a sign of more good things to come!
Pineapple Fruz has now become my stable evening strain, though I have had to use it in the daytime a couple of times. As mentioned above, even with daytime use this strain still enables produtivity without fighting off being too tired by the 30% strength.
Though nugs could have been larger in the batch, effects didn't seem impacted and certainly the cure and terpene preservation wasn't negatively impacted.
If you like fruity sweet strains but with a complex gassy backend then this is a great option for you. Depending on the device/ setup you may be able to deconstruct this profile even further. I was pleasantly surprised to find a nod to the old LA Kush Cake when loading this up in a Utilian 850 for example. Showing a bold complex blend that explains how good the effects have been for my needs on medical.
If you have been hesitant about Four20 products due to previous experiences, it may be time to reconsider and checkout some of their new strains like this!
