Morning Sun 31% UK Strain Review
We are back with our first strain review of 2026!
We had to start with a strong contender, introducing Morning Sun by QWEST. Those who are fans of classic lemon haze terps will be a fan of this, but there is a key difference. This stuff packs a punch! So let's jump into the ins and outs of this strain, as well as some new categories we are introducing to our reviews!

Morning Sun 31% UK Medical Cannabis Strain Review
Introduction
Morning sun has been available for a couple of months now, and when I first ordered a batch I hadn't heard much about it. I have had a series of my strains go out of stock recently, which has meant branching out and trying new things. This doesn't always go well, but I can confidently say with Morning Sun i'm glad I did!
One thing I must note for this review is that the shoot took place towards the end of a bag that had relatively small buds. The previous bags that I had were your typical larger nugs, in fact in one I had one of the biggest nugs i've seen on medical. So don't let the small nugs in the photos here put you off. It's been pretty consistent and even between small/ large nugs i've noticed little difference.

Main Review
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my review of the Morning Sun 31% UK Medical Cannabis Strain Review
This was sourced legally via prescription to myself with chronic pain being the primary condition this is used for. I hope my feedback here is useful for you to make an informed choice on future prescriptions, or to avoid it depending on your needs. I always welcome feedback in terms of other specific points I could cover in these reviews. Please keep in mind that i'm not a medical professional and these are no more than my personal anecdotal experiences.
The way this strain is being discussed is with relation to a chronic pain prescription relating to nerve pain and severe headaches, though it has also proven helpful beyond these treatments.

Device/ Setup
I now include my device setups so you can compare my feedback to what you use as everyones preferences are different.
Main devices:
Storz and Bickel Venty
Tinymight 2
Secondary Devices: Storz and Bickel Volcano Hybrid , Pax Plus & Dynvap M.
Outcome:
The cure on this flower is alright, and translates well in the grind and vapour. It tastes beautiful and full of citrus which lasts longer than other recent strains i've had in terms of flavour.
Ultimately this has primarily been used through my Venty/ Frolic and both handle it incredibly well. Though I will admit, it's best enjoyed out of a bag from my Volcano Hybrid where the terpene profile remains intact throughout th vaping session.
Initial observation upon opening (nug shape/ density/ cure and shake content):
First impressions were very positive with an immediate hit of the terpene profile, and a very pleasant array of equally sized, dense buds. As mentioned my first couple of batches of this arrived with large well cured/ trimmed nugs. In fact one of my bags had a bud that took up almost half of the weight. Though this varies as you can see from the photos in this review, my latest batch did come with nugs on the smaller side of things.
Coated in trichomes and a range of colours from greens to dark purples, visually this is a very pleasing flower that looks as though it has been well looked after in the grow and during processing. It is crisp to touch and in my opinion could be even better with higher moisture content but despite the typical hurdles in the supply chain, they have done a good job at preserving the terpenes here, but as always there could be more!
Minimal to no shake present in all bags received, and over all a very nice package to open.
Looks: 8/10
Terps: 8/10
Vapour Flavour: 9/10
Cure: 7.5/10
Flower Size: 8/10
Flower Consistency: 9/10
Shake Content: Minimal to none.

How Accessible Is The Bag/ Pot?

I've decided to introduce this category to our medical strain reviews this year. With more and more producers and updating packaging from previous brands coming out, we have been getting more and more feedback about some of the pesky child safety precautions.
Now let me start off with the fact that having these features is important! However, for some patients with dexterity issues, or those who may struggle when needing a dose quickly, these can become a bit of a hurdle.
So I thought I would include which type of mechanism if any each strain uses. Obviously they could swap packaging out on future batches but for the most part i'm guessing they'll be quite consistent. So if these are issues for you it'll help you avoid anything you find troublesome.
What type of safety feature does it have?
In the case of the QWEST Morning Sun, it has the 'fold back tab' with the blue line on the seal. So upon opening the top of the bag, you need to seperate the sides from the central closure. Then lift the edge of the blue lined flap up from the bottom of this interior crease and then pull on that blue tab whilst pulling on the other side kind of like a crisp packet.
In my opinion this is a great safety feature, but can be one of the more difficult ones to use. I can see certain patients having issues with this, and have had feedback directly about this type of closure.
Don't let this make you miss out on a fantastic strain though. There are remedies to this, and once you know how to open them they're pretty straigh forwards.

Any improvement after storage change and curing?
Overall it's well prepared to go straight into your dry herb vape. Though I did feel the terpene improved slightly after a couple of days in a glass jar.
The cure is a little on the crisp side, but not as bad as others. Once it is ground you can find that moisture and it's certainly not a harsh vape.
This would be a strain i'd be happy to keep in the bag as it presents pretty well already.

Budget-Friendly Dry Herb Vaporizers Under £100: Top Picks for UK Vapers

Are you searching for the best cheap dry herb vaporizer in the UK? As a medical cannabis patient, I know how challenging it can be to find an affordable yet high-quality vaporizer. Everyone touts Tiny Mights and Mighty, but let's be honest, the prescription is expensive enough as it is and not everyone can afford to throw £300 at something like this.

Context: I’m prescribed for chronic nerve pain with severe headaches that is accompanied by nausea/ gastro issues at times. I work full time and have a young family. As such, I have to find the balance between managing pain/ symptoms, and being functional in my various responsibilities.
In turn, the split between a day time and night time strain gives me that ability to address deeper pains in the evenings where it may be more sedating, whilst using a more uplifting/ cerebral strain for day time to help get me through without any unwanted side effects. This has been key to me taking back my life and maintaining better quality of life all in.
Getting into it
I had noted the citrus terpenes when ordering this, but I wasn't anticipating how strong they would break through. I've had my hopes up too many times before so it was a pleasant surprise to be hit by such a familiar yet complex profile straight out of the bag.
With the profile being so similar to lemon haze I was content, but I made the mistake of dosing it as I would with SLH and that 31% creeped up and put me in my place very quickly. Having timed this prior to a one hour Teams meeting wasn't the best idea as I spent the entire time making sure I was still taking in what was being said...
In turn, used properly this is a fantastic strain. The bright terpene profile, and potency is a match made in heaven. With a lower dose in the day it is brilliant for productivity, but increasing that into the evening then helps this break through in to great pain management for myself.
The first couple of batches coming in with such large nugs really gave this flower a chance to show off. You can see the care and attention given at every stage of cultivation here. I can only hope for this to remain a reliable strain in stock for the future and welcome any futher improvements!

Morning Sun 31% by QWEST

How Does It Grind?
Morning Sun grinds really easily. The dense nugs do have a bit of resistance at first, but gives way to a beautiful center and unlocks the full terpene profile.
Easy to go for a coarse grind with, but gives way to ultra fine without issue. With the potency of this strain you certainly see that translate into trichomes at the bottom of your grinder. So if not careful your doses get stronger as you work down your two piece grinder.
Over all this grinds really well!

Batch No
For reference we usually include a batch number. Some strains have varied over time, often for the better. So we figured it's best to have a reference point for when we reviewed this for context.
This was from batch: BN:A359075
The effects of this strain and terpene profile has been consistent across every batch I have received. The nug size has varied with predominantly large nugs, but with my most recent batch being on the relatively small side. Though this didn't impact effects at all for me.
Throat issues/ catching/ allergies?:
In the past I have had hay fever like symptoms with a scratchy throat/ runny eyes and sneezing around loading my device or vaping certain strains. After a recent brain operation, avoiding coughing is a big priority for me to help reduce pressure. So I take note whether this is an issue on my reviews incase anyone else has the same problem!
I have experienced none of these issues with this strain in particular thankfully.

Strain Profile: EC MAC1 24%

Terpene profile:
Terpinolene, Limonene & Myrcene
PLANT
Indica
AROMATIC NOTES
Exotic, Fruity & Gassy
TASTING NOTES Creamy Caramel with citrus

Consistency
I've had a handful of batches now and the consistency has been there across the board in terms of effects, taste and cure. Though as mentioned bud size varied, but this is perfectly normal.
Other Strain Reviews

4C Ultra Sour
One of my current favourites for day time. Ultra sour packs a productive punch enabling me to carry on with my day whilst managing my symptoms.
The terpene profile is so familiar with a nod back to super lemon haze and RED no2 for those who remember Spectrum from back in the day!

Peace Naturals Atomic Sour Grapefruit
What an incredible strain profile, this offering from Peace Naturals has been a welcome addition to my prescription.
The grapefruit shines through beautifully and makes a great balanced strain from afternoon through to evening for me.

Curaleaf Medical Inhaler Que Pod system Review
Curaleafs latest offering is their brand new medical inhaler device. Essentially a battery system designed to use their new pre filled pods for medically prescribed medical cannabis extracts. I have broken down the ins and outs of the new device and pods to compare to the previous traditional 510 thread carts that were on offer.

Overall impression
Give it a go! I've seen recent price drops on this strain since I started which only goes to make this strain a better choice.
Bright citrus tones that translate to a creamy and gassy vape. Not only that but the longevity of the terpene profile seems to last a lot longer than other strains in my Venty.
I hope to see more strains pop up like this. With the closest in memory being 'Ultra Sour' which I would love to see return!
I hope this has been useful, and helped you make your next pick!
We have a couple more strain reviews about to come out, so keep your eyes out for our Tangie Chem and Jelly Ranchers review incoming!
In the meantime, have a great rest of your day!
Take care,
Rowan
