Introduction
After trying MAC from EastCann I was intruiged to see what else they had to offer. I've always been a fan of sweet/ fruity profiles so when I saw Jelly Ranchers pop up on the formulary I was excited.
Off the bat out the box I could feel the well sized and dense nugs through the packet, but nothing prepared me for the incredible smell that was to follow when I opened it up.
So before I get ahead of myself, let's jump into the nitty gritty on how this strain rates. How easy the packaging is to navigate, how well it's cured and a full terpene breakdown.

Give it a go! I've seen recent price drops on this strain since I started which only goes to make this strain a better choice. Bright citrus tones that translate to a creamy and gassy vape. Not only that but the longevity of the terpene profile seems to last a lot longer than other strains in my Venty.

Outcome:
One of my favourite strains to vape as of late. I will admit that the terpene profile doesn't last long flavour wise, but what follows is a dense and smooth vape that is a pleasure to use on session or shorter hits.
Initial observation upon opening (nug shape/ density/ cure and shake content):
First impressions were great mainly down to the terpene profile being so fruity and jammy. The nugs were uniform in size, trim and density across the board and with all packs that i've received.
Minimal to no shake present in all bags received, and over all a very nice package to open. One of the few strains that I take a moment to get a good sniff fresh out of the bag each time i'm preparing a dose.
Looks: 8/10
Terps: 9/10
Vapour Flavour: 9/10
Cure: 8/10
Flower Size: 8/10
Flower Consistency: 9/10
Shake Content: Minimal to none.

How Accessible Is The Bag/ Pot?
I've decided to introduce this category to our medical strain reviews this year. With more and more producers and updating packaging from previous brands coming out, we have been getting more and more feedback about some of the pesky child safety precautions.
Now let me start off with the fact that having these features is important! However, for some patients with dexterity issues, or those who may struggle when needing a dose quickly, these can become a bit of a hurdle.
So I thought I would include which type of mechanism if any each strain uses. Obviously they could swap packaging out on future batches but for the most part i'm guessing they'll be quite consistent. So if these are issues for you it'll help you avoid anything you find troublesome.
What type of safety feature does it have?
In the case these bags are simple pull apart mylar bags. No security measures making it great for those who find some of the openning security features a little tricky. Though is worth noting it makes your medication a little less secure. So it'll come down to your preference. If it's an issue, you can always keep it in a lockable bag such as THIS.
Any improvement after storage change and curing?
Overall it's well prepared to go straight into your dry herb vape with well cured, not overly dry flower. Though I did feel the terpene improved slightly after a couple of days in a glass jar.
It grinds incredibly well out of the bag, and even the much larger buds i've had have had a consistent cure throughout. EastCann are doing good things on this front now that i've had a few batches.

Context: I’m prescribed for chronic nerve pain with severe headaches that is accompanied by nausea/ gastro issues at times. I work full time and have a young family. As such, I have to find the balance between managing pain/ symptoms, and being functional in my various responsibilities.
In turn, the split between a day time and night time strain gives me that ability to address deeper pains in the evenings where it may be more sedating, whilst using a more uplifting/ cerebral strain for day time to help get me through without any unwanted side effects. This has been key to me taking back my life and maintaining better quality of life all in.
Getting into it
Not going to lie, this is probably one of my top 5 of the past year. Things have come a long way since I started my medical cannabis journey over six years ago. But most of that leap in quality has happened in the past 12-24 months. Don't get me wrong, there is still a long way to go, but in the context of what's available currently, Jelly Rancher stands out for me.
Not just a reat cure, but the terpene profile is just something that I keep coming back to. I do wish it carried for longer in the vape, but it translates into an incredibly smooth vape once those initial more volatile terpenes have evaporated off.
Bud formation, cure and trim have all been carefully attended to. Unlike other strains there isn't a crisp exterior as things are well balanced inside the bag on arrival.
Overall, for these reasons Jelly Ranchers rates highly on my list of current prescriptions.

How Does It Grind?
These buds pull apart with ease showing their balanced moisture throughout. This translates to a coarse grind very easily, but make no mistake you can make this into a finer grind if prefered. The added moisture can gum things up over time, but to me, that is a pro as it shows the flower hasn't been pushed too far during drying.
Over all this grinds really well!
Batch No
For reference we usually include a batch number. Some strains have varied over time, often for the better. So we figured it's best to have a reference point for when we reviewed this for context.

The effects of this strain and terpene profile has been consistent across every batch I have received. The nug size has been consisted for every batch with large uniform nugs. The terpene profile has been spot on each time as well.
Throat issues/ catching/ allergies?:
In the past I have had hay fever like symptoms with a scratchy throat/ runny eyes and sneezing around loading my device or vaping certain strains. After a recent brain operation, avoiding coughing is a big priority for me to help reduce pressure. So I take note whether this is an issue on my reviews incase anyone else has the same problem!
I have experienced none of these issues with this strain in particular thankfully. The balanced cure leads to an incredibly smooth vapour time after time. I do wish the terpene profile lasted longer, however with how smooth it delivers I can't complain.

I've had a handful of batches now and the consistency has been there across the board in terms of effects, taste and cure. Aside from one extra large nug, they have all been the same size and density as well. Make this a strain that i've been able to rely on solidly.

One of my current favourites for day time. Ultra sour packs a productive punch enabling me to carry on with my day whilst managing my symptoms.
The terpene profile is so familiar with a nod back to super lemon haze and RED no2 for those who remember Spectrum from back in the day!

What an incredible strain profile, this offering from Peace Naturals has been a welcome addition to my prescription.
The grapefruit shines through beautifully and makes a great balanced strain from afternoon through to evening for me.
Curaleaf Medical Inhaler Que Pod system Review
Curaleafs latest offering is their brand new medical inhaler device. Essentially a battery system designed to use their new pre filled pods for medically prescribed medical cannabis extracts. I have broken down the ins and outs of the new device and pods to compare to the previous traditional 510 thread carts that were on offer.
Overall impression
If you like a fruity strain then this is a must! Though there are familiarities to Black Cherry Punch this just has a whole new level of sweetness and complexity. It's such a welcoming smell when you open the bag or grinder, and the first few hits on the Venty is where it really shines.
Effects wise it delivers a high strength result, but without the throat issues that higher potency flower can sometimes give. It's well balanced cure, flavour and effects make this one of my current favourites on the UK market. I'm surprised I don't see this strain mentioned more often!
