4C Hawaiian Faanta 31% UK Medical Cannabis Strain Review
Welcome to our run down of Hawaiian Faanta by 4C Labs. These massive nugs didn't just look the part, but the smell, flavour and effects are all exactly what I needed. These days there are still the 'flat' terpene profiles arriving in packs, so it's always a little worrying when trying a new strain. I can confidently say with this one, that I had nothing to worry about!

4C Hawaiian Faanta 31% UK Medical Cannabis Strain Review
Introduction
At this point i've tried a fair few of the strains offered by 4C labs, and for the most part have been happy. So as my most recent stronger strain was out of stock (Morning Sun) I figured it was time to try another offering from 4C.
I had seen mixed reviews online, but as we all know you have to take what you see out on socials with a pinch of salt. Overall I noted positive comments on it's profile and effects, but as these are so subjective it can hard to know whether it will be good for your needs.
Anyway, with all that said, I was very happy from the get go when I opened up the package on arrival. Met with large nugs and a smell that lingered in the kitchen a while after I had put it back away. It was an eager wait the rest of the afternoon to see how this strain performed.
So let's jump into this strain, it's terpene profile, cure, effects and over all impressions.
For those wanting to cut to the chase I have now included my scores at the top of the article, so you can jump in and out, or read on if you want a more in depth break down!
Hawaiian Faanta Scores:
Looks: 9/10
Terps: 9/10
Vapour Flavour: 9/10
Cure: 8.5/10
Flower Size: 9/10
Flower Consistency: 9/10
Shake Content: Minimal to none.

Main Review
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my review of the 4C Hawaiian Faanta 31% UK Medical Cannabis Strain.
This was sourced legally via prescription to myself with chronic pain being the primary condition this is used for. I hope my feedback here is useful for you to make an informed choice on future prescriptions, or to avoid it depending on your needs. I always welcome feedback in terms of other specific points I could cover in these reviews. Please keep in mind that i'm not a medical professional and these are no more than my personal anecdotal experiences.
The way this strain is being discussed is with relation to a chronic pain prescription relating to nerve pain and severe headaches, though it has also proven helpful beyond these treatments.

Device/ Setup
I now include my device setups so you can compare my feedback to what you use as everyones preferences are different.
Main devices:
Storz and Bickel Venty
Tinymight 2
Secondary Devices: Zues Arc GT4, Storz and Bickel Volcano Hybrid , Pax Plus & Dynvap M.
Outcome:
The cure and preservation on this strain is great for medical cannabis. It translates beautifully in every device i've tried it through. Despite the potency it's not a harsh strain with the right balance of moisture and a pungent terpene profile that remains smooth on the throat throughout your dose.
The volcano is where it shines best when using the bag, but as with all strains this is often the case as the terpenes are mixed throughout all of the vapour. The Venty and GT4 had the edge for those initial terpenes otherwise.
Initial observation upon opening (nug shape/ density/ cure and shake content):
First impressions were very positive. The first nug on top was by far the largest but not to say the rest weren't also of considerable size. With only 6/7 nugs in the entire first bag these plants were clearly grown well. The terpene profile hit's immediately but hangs around even after the bag has been closed again.
There was minimal shake in the bag due to the flower not being overly dry and each nug had equal density. I'm very impressed with this strain so far in terms of how it arrives with little to no feedback other than always wanting more terps but this strain is by no means lacking!

How Accessible Is The Bag/ Pot?

I've decided to introduce this category to our medical strain reviews this year. With more and more producers and updating packaging from previous brands coming out, we have been getting more and more feedback about some of the pesky child safety precautions.
Now let me start off with the fact that having these features is important! However, for some patients with dexterity issues, or those who may struggle when needing a dose quickly, these can become a bit of a hurdle.
So I thought I would include which type of mechanism if any each strain uses. Obviously they could swap packaging out on future batches but for the most part i'm guessing they'll be quite consistent. So if these are issues for you it'll help you avoid anything you find troublesome.
What type of safety feature does it have?
In the case of the 4C Hawaiian Faanta, it has the 'fold back tab' with the blue line on the seal. The picture above is from another strain that used the same mechanism for reference.
So upon opening the top of the bag, you need to seperate the sides from the central closure. Then lift the edge of the blue lined flap up from the bottom of this interior crease and then pull on that blue tab whilst pulling on the other side kind of like a crisp packet.
In my opinion this is a great safety feature, but can be one of the more difficult ones to use. I can see certain patients having issues with this, and have had feedback directly about this type of closure. Sometimes it takes a good pull to try and open up and with the small tab this won't be ideal for those with dexterity issues.
Don't let this make you miss out on a fantastic strain though. There are remedies to this, and once you know how to open them they're pretty straight forwards.

Any improvement after storage change and curing?
Overall it's well prepared to go straight into your dry herb vape. This strain arrived with a Boveda pack already inserted in the pouch meaning it was well balanced off the go.
I do personaly find that glass jars are always better than mylar bags or tubs, so did find a slight improvement after a few days being transfered out. However honeslty this strain does well on it's own!

Budget-Friendly Dry Herb Vaporizers Under £100: Top Picks for UK Vapers

Are you searching for the best cheap dry herb vaporizer in the UK? As a medical cannabis patient, I know how challenging it can be to find an affordable yet high-quality vaporizer. Everyone touts Tiny Mights and Mighty, but let's be honest, the prescription is expensive enough as it is and not everyone can afford to throw £300 at something like this.

Context: I’m prescribed for chronic nerve pain with severe headaches that is accompanied by nausea/ gastro issues at times. I work full time and have a young family. As such, I have to find the balance between managing pain/ symptoms, and being functional in my various responsibilities.
In turn, the split between a day time and night time strain gives me that ability to address deeper pains in the evenings where it may be more sedating, whilst using a more uplifting/ cerebral strain for day time to help get me through without any unwanted side effects. This has been key to me taking back my life and maintaining better quality of life all in.
Getting into it
I find that there is a correlation between how you like the profile on the nose vs how it helps you. This isn't scientific, but generally speaking has been the case for me. With this in mind, when met with the profile of Hawaiian Faanta was promising straight out of the bag.
With a similar yet complex terpene profile, I had high hopes as to how it would translate in terms of effects. Being a stronger strain, I typically use these in the evening once i've finished work and other respnsibilities. Hawaiian Faanta was the perfect end of the day dose for me. The flavour wasn't overshadowed by the strength with a smooth vapour throughout and effects that were ideal for my body load and turning off after a busy day.
The nugs were all well cured and trimmed, and a pleasure to grind though I will note a decent build up of kief at the base of my two piece grinder, so using a kief catcher will no doubt take a lot of these away from your flower just to note!
Over all I found the effects to be a nice balance between couch lock and productivity as much as that sounds like a contradiction. With a higher dose the productivity certainly deminishes, but the fact I can get my relief and continue on with certain things is a great bonus for me.
I think that for most patients, this is a strain well worth exploring if you're needing something that kicks like a potent strain but leaves you intact to carry on if needed!

How Does It Grind?
This Hawaiian Faanta came beautiful cured with a nicely balanced moisture content. Despite being dense and uniformed in terms of the flower, it grinds with little resistance in both my Kube grinder and my classic orang S&B.
The terpene profile really shines when you open up your grinder presenting a nice balanced grind across the deck.
As noted earlier, even in my two piece grinders, there was a notable build up of trichomes at the bottom. So I would note that with a three piece grinder, this will no doubt build up fast leaving a lot of the potency away from you flower. Though this may be a preference for you!

Batch No
For reference we usually include a batch number. Some strains have varied over time, often for the better. So we figured it's best to have a reference point for when we reviewed this for context.
This was from batch: BN: A382197
The effects of this strain and terpene profile has been consistent across every batch I have received. The nug size has been consistent across the batches i've received though this will obviously vary depending on which packs you happen to receive.
Throat issues/ catching/ allergies?:
In the past I have had hay fever like symptoms with a scratchy throat/ runny eyes and sneezing around loading my device or vaping certain strains. After a recent brain operation, avoiding coughing is a big priority for me to help reduce pressure. So I take note whether this is an issue on my reviews incase anyone else has the same problem!
I have experienced none of these issues with this strain!

Strain Profile: Hawaiian Faanta 31% 4C

Original Cultivar: Hawaiian Fanta (sativa hybrid)
Parents: Pineapple Fanta (sativa hybrid) x Grape Gasoline (hybrid)

Terpene profile:
High in Caryophyllene, Myrcene, and Humulene, which contribute to its fruity, spicy, and hoppy aroma.

Consistency
I've had a handful of batches now and the consistency has been there across the board in terms of effects, taste and cure. I hope this remains in stock consistently moving forwards!
Other Strain Reviews

4C Ultra Sour
One of my current favourites for day time. Ultra sour packs a productive punch enabling me to carry on with my day whilst managing my symptoms.
The terpene profile is so familiar with a nod back to super lemon haze and RED no2 for those who remember Spectrum from back in the day!

Peace Naturals Atomic Sour Grapefruit
What an incredible strain profile, this offering from Peace Naturals has been a welcome addition to my prescription.
The grapefruit shines through beautifully and makes a great balanced strain from afternoon through to evening for me.

Curaleaf Medical Inhaler Que Pod system Review
Curaleafs latest offering is their brand new medical inhaler device. Essentially a battery system designed to use their new pre filled pods for medically prescribed medical cannabis extracts. I have broken down the ins and outs of the new device and pods to compare to the previous traditional 510 thread carts that were on offer.

Overall impression
I'm a happy chap every time it's time for a dose of my Hawaiian Faanta as it's been working so well for me. The fact that it also happens to be a great tasting strain makes this so much better as theres nothing worse than having an effective strain that isn't quite doing it on this front.
I won't name names, but this has made one of my other strains redundant due to this. The fact that it delivers the relief I expect from a stronger strain without putting a stop to productivity has made this an incredibly versatile strain for me. With that said, I really hope it remains in stock consistently moving forwards!
In terms of comparisons to other strains, off the top of my head Morning Sun comes to mind for the productivity side of things. Though they both have citrus tones, they are totally different profiles however. The Hawaiian Faanta is more on the robust grapefruit side of things compared to the bright lime and lemons of Morning Sun.
With that said, i'd highly recommend you gave this strain a go if it's on your formulary. It's certainly one of the better options currently on the Curaleaf formulary imo!
I hope you've found this review helpful, and that you have a great rest of your day!
Take care,
Rowan

“Medical cannabis has given me back control and vast improvement in terms of my quality of life day to day. Although I still struggle with my symptoms, this has enabled me to still be present and functional on the worse days, and given the peace of mind that knowings it's there if I need it on the better ones.”
