Can you carry and use your medical cannabis outside of your home in the UK?
Yes! Your medication is legal, and no different than any other controlled medication. You may be required to prove legitimacy of your prescription/ legal status however.
It is advised that you cary your medication in its original packaging, and with your prescription label intact. Though you can prepare dosing capsules for storage and ease of use outside, you still need this packaging an a form of ID to verify it.
Besides that, you are allowed to use your medical cannabis flower, cart or oil out and about.
Can you smoke your medical cannabis flower?
Medical cannabis is prescribed under strict conditions here in the UK. Though will hear of prescribing Dr's commenting it's fine if you cant afford a Dry Herb Vape, this isn't in line with the printed prescription and advice generally given here in the UK.
Medical cannabis flower is prescribed to be used in a dry herb vaporizer, and therefor combusting your medicine by smoking would be a breach of these instructions. Whether or not this is worth the police pursuing it is another question. However in this day and age with such incredible dry herb vaporizers around, and the fact they'll save you a lot of flower, is there really a reason to combust anymore?
What do I need to go out an about with my medical cannabis day to day?
Juggling a grinder and a dry herb vape out and about can be a bit much, especially for those who are a little anxious of the stigma that is unfortunately still present at times.
Some key bits of kit I would recommend to make these processes and experiences easier are:
