CBD Drinks - Little Rick Review
CBD Drinks have been a popular choice for customers ever since we opened our doors on the high street back in 2018. Over the years we have seen many CBD drink companies come and go. But one has stuck around, and with good reason. So let's jump into why we prefer Little Ricks CBD drinks when topping up our CBD dose day to day.

It Can Be Hard To Slow Down In The Busy World
Grabbing your CBD Drops and counting out your dose with the pipette isn't always the easiest when out and about. Convenience is king, especially with a busy lifestyle, or when managing chronic conditions. Often we have enough to deal with and juggle when out and about. So reaching for a refreshing drink that happens to also include a dose of CBD is a no brainer in these circumstances.
Though onset will be a little slower thatn sublinqual CBD Oil Drops, the convenience outweighs the slight delay especially when the drink tastes great. The thing is, with so many different CBD drink companies and flavours out there it can be hard to know what's good, what's cheap rubbish, and what's actually good for you as part of your wellness routine?

Unboxing & Background
So incase you're new to our website, we're Infinity CBD. We've been working in the UK CBD and Medical Cannabis space since 2018 and went on to launch this brand in 2019. Aside from making our CBD/ Cannabis based products in our own labs here in Pembrokeshire, we also offer a wide range of consultation services around medical cannabis.
Aside from this, we regularly get asked to review, and weigh in on various products and medical cannabis related news. In this instance, Little Rick reached out to us offering to send us some of their drinks to check out. As we were already fans of their drinks, we took them up on the offer!

This article is to provide insight into CBD drinks here in the UK, and to discuss Little Rick's offerings and how/ why they fit in so well with many of our customers and medical cannabis patients day to day routine.
As always, i'll be giving you my honest insights and feedback in this review. I would never promote a product I don't believe in, and even with products that I love, i'm not afraid to point out where they fall short and any issues they have.
Being up front, prior to being asked if we wanted to do this I was already a fan of their drinks. So i'm approaching this review/ article with a positive outlook, however it is worth noting there is one major downside to these drinks that I don't often see mentioned. So stick around until the end to see the ins and outs of this CBD Drink selection and whether it's worth you picking up a can for yourself!
CBD coffee is my usual go to in the mornings, having the bottle next to the kettle keeps my routine going without me forgetting in the chaos of getting started for the day ahead. However, I have found myself drinking less coffee these days, or waiting until further into the day before I sit down with one.
This has meant i've been going quite a few days forgetting my morning dose. Though i'm not short of access to CBD working in the lab, sometimes grabbing a drink as my dosage routine not only provides my CBD for the day/ moment, but it also helps me take pause, and be mindful of the moment. I'm terrible at getting hyperfocused and storming through the day before I realise the time. So by building this routine back in, it enables me to take charge, whilst also taking care.

Little Rick Drinks - How Much CBD Per Can?
We've seen a wide range of CBD drink strengths come and go over the years, and more often than not, they tend to land on the 5-15mg side of things. Where as Little Rick takes things a lot further, with each can containing 32mg of CBD! But it doesn't stop there, it also has 6mg of CBD and 1.2mg of CBC!
Now, as a reference point, that is the equivalent of just over 6 drops of our 10% 1,000mg CBD Oil Drops per can.

Little Rick use a Full Spectrum extract in their drinks, which is brilliant and not often seen in other competing brands. More often than not we see CBD isolate based drinks, or compiled Broad Spectrum options. So it's great to see that the entourage effect is being taken seriously here!

Not all CBD extracts are the same when it comes to effects/ and potential for maintaining your health. Though it get's a little more detailed/ involved than this, you can categorise CBD extracts used in food/ drink into three main categories:
CBD Isolate - This is 'isolated' CBD meaning that absolutely everything else has been removed leaving 'Pure' CBD. In principle 'Pure' CBD sounds good, but this is the cheapest form of CBD as it can be extracted and isolated from any quality of source material and still end up with the 'pure' tag at the end. Furthermore, there is a lot of belief and research behind the 'entourage effect' which suggests that cannabinoids work together for greater results. So by isolating CBD away from the other cannabinoids and compounds found naturally in the plant, it could be said that you're also removing some of the key benefits people seek when using CBD.
Broad Spectrum CBD - Broad Spectrum CBD can contain a wide range of cannabinoids, terpenes and flavinoids naturally found in the cannabis/ hemp plant. In terms of the 'entourage effect' this ticks all of the boxes other than THC. Broad Spectrum CBD extracts must have below 0.00% THC content. Many customers opt for this option as it means they don't have to worry about THC content at all whilst still benefiting from other compounds such as CBG, CBN, CBC and more. Some companies use a 'Full Plant' extract which takes all the natural goodies, and then formulate it so that the THC content is below the threshold to make their extract. However, if you're not careful, some companies will combine multiple isolates into a mix and then label this as Broad Spectrum. Though it's great having some of the other cannabinoids in there, you're still missing out on a whole host of other compounds that the plant intended this way.
Full Spectrum CBD - Full Spectrum or 'Full Fat CBD' extracts contain a wide range of cannabinoids including trace amounts of THC up to 0.2% content or 1mg total. This is believed to be amongst the best option as it has everything the plant provided as intended. Though there is only a minor difference between Broad Spectrum and Full Spectrum if both are done right, that little splash of THC can make all of the difference tying things together.
Yeah that's great n that but how do they taste?
To be honest, i've had mixed feelings about other CBD drinks in the past. Either they go down the route of tasting similar to red bull/ energy drinks which kind of feels counter intuitive to the health and wellness approach of CBD. Or they go down the botanical route and go for a range of fancy combinations that ultimately isolate some of their potential customers.
Cutting that down the middle and having options that appeal to the broader public is a great way to bridge the gap of what CBD is, and what to expect when taking it. We've seen first hand how many people still turn their nose up at CBD due to baises against cannabis. Opting for a drink that tastes great has always been a great entry level for first time customers who are intruiged by CBD, but don't want to jump in with two feet yet.
With that said, I think Little Rick have done a great job of keeping the balance with light refreshing flavours, familiar sweet options such as Pink Lemonade, and not to mention their Pina Colada which fits in perfect for those wanting to stray away from alcohol during social moments.

So to answer the question of this section, do they taste great? They genuinely do!
With full spectrum extracts there can be the concern that the nutty hemp flavour can over power things, but this isn't an issue at all with these drinks. Beyond this, they clearly care about their recipes. It's all too easy to grab general flavourings and throw CBD in and think you're onto a winner but actually be left short with a product that customers won't come back to.
However, I can confidently say that i'm a big fan of the rasperry lemonade to kick start my day, and the Lime and Mint is a new late afternoon favourite and has gone down an absolute treat today during a little heat wave we've been having!

A great selection of flavours is one thing, but can this drink back it up with great quality CBD at the same time?
In my experience, the answer is yes! Using a full spectrum option for their drinks goes a long with our customers and medical cannabis patients who appreciate how important the full profile is. Being able to grab a refreshing drink that also delivers a strong 32mg of CBD is great (particularly if it's currently a heat wave like it is as i'm writing this!).
As with most things, there are pros and cons though. One major 'Con' with this is also it's strength (no pun intended). 32mg is a brilliant dose for many people, though it's a relatively high dose that may be a bit much for some. This isn't like THC where the difference between 10mg and 30mg couple be the balance between a relaxed day, and being shot into space for some people. CBD doesn't get you high after all, but some who are more sensitive to CBD, may find it best to split these drinks into two portions.
With that said, for many a 32mg dose is close to their standard dose, and the fact it's got decent levels of CBG and CBC is great. I'd expect a lot of our customers who rely on CBD daily to find this incredibly effective at this strength and profile.
In the end of the day, CBD drinks are a convenience, and with Little Rick you can't go wrong with the strength or price point. Whether you're choosing to be the driver and not 'drink' and opt for a CBD alternative, or simply want a refreshing way for todays dose. I think you'd struggle to be disapointed with this range.
